Busy Signal Secures US Work Permit, Booked For NY Show In June

Having already received his visitor's visa at the start of the year, Reggae/Dancehall superstar Busy Signal, is once again celebrating, this time, the granting of his work permit. The artiste, who is currently signed to four major brands, namely Pepsi, KFC, Lucozade and Guinness, will have his first ever US performance at the annual Groovin In The Park concert, which is scheduled for June 25 in New York.
"It is such a blessing. All praises to the Most High for all that he's bestowed on me. I am excited to finally be getting the opportunity to perform for my US fans. They have always requested the Turf President and I want to assure them that their wait has not been in vain," an elated Busy Signal stated.
Busy will join an impressive galaxy of reggae and R&B stars at Groovin’ In The Park including R&B legend R Kelly.
"Music fans in the USA have been waiting to see this dancehall megastar in concert for a very long time. I am happy that this historic performance will be delivered on a Groovin stage, the biggest music platform for reggae and R&B music in the US," Groovin' Inc. founder and CEO Chris Roberts stated.
Busy Signal, who broke on the scene in 2005, has continuously and consistently churned out hit songs, the most successful being his 2013 collaborative hit titled Bumaye with Major Lazer which was certified platinum by the International Federation of the Photographic Industry (IFPI) in Denmark. The song was also featured in Pepsi’s international ad campaign, which captures international football superstar Lionel Messi doing several football stunts with a Pepsi can. Busy Signal was also featured in Smirnoff Ice's Europe ad campaign for his Watch Me Now single.
Additionally, ‘Everybody Move’, a track produced by DJ Karim and featuring vocals by Busy Signal, provided the soundtrack of an ad campaign for South Korean multinational conglomerate LG. The ad features British actor Jason Statham.
With a host of accolades and sponsorship deals under his belt, the artiste has already been receiving calls from US promoters who are interested in booking him for shows. "Music fans have been waiting for a very long time for the opportunity to see Busy perform live in the USA . I want to thank my Lawyer, my Turf Music Entertainment Team, Solid Agency and, of course, the US Embassy, who were instrumental in making it happen for the fans."
The artiste is also currently promoting a slew of new singles including NO LIE, DOH DWEET, PARTY NIGHT and THE REASONING. The music video for the latter was released earlier this month. Busy Signal recently completed part two of the single titled The Reasoning Continued, slated to be released in the upcoming week.
